  1. Briefly, what have you done personally or professionally since high school?
  2. I grew up in Chillicothe, Ohio. I went to college at UNC-Chapel Hill…Go Tar Heels!!! I graduated with a Math Education degree, but decided I didn’t want to teach so I went to Wake Forest University and got my MBA. From there I was hired at IBM in the Triangle and I worked there for 34 years.

  3. How long have you lived in Raleigh/Cary/Durham?
  4. I came to Raleigh in 1979 when I was hired by IBM, so going on 39 years. I lived in La Gaude, France for 2 ½ years during this time.

  5. What was your motivation for joining ALTA?
  6. I knew that when I retired from IBM I wanted to give back to the community. When I was working and being a mom, I didn’t have time to do much volunteering. Ellen Czinege belonged to another group with me and she invited me to join when I retired. I have thoroughly enjoyed the volunteering, but more importantly the friendships I have made within ALTA.

  7. Please, tell us something about you we may not know or something about you that is unique or unexpected.
  8. I lived in France from 1993-96 with my family. My husband had an assignment there through IBM. I took a leave of absence from IBM, so I did a lot of sightseeing and shopping with other assignee wives. We put our sons in the French school and they were fluent within 4 months. My biggest hobby is sewing. I like to do all kinds of craft projects. I hope to pick up quilting in the near future. I was a big “soccer mom” when my boys were.
